Location Details
Thornapple Lake Nature Sanctuary is a 60-acre sanctuary on the east side of the Thornapple Lake, where the Thornapple River enters the lake. The sanctuary encompasses shoreline both south and north of the Thornapple River. The primary natural community found on the sanctuary is floodplain forest.
Visiting this sanctuary is challenging and best accomplished by canoe or kayak from the public boat launch from Superior Drive.
